Full day private cappadocia tour (car&guide )
Meet your private tour guide at your hotel and begin your full-day Cappadocia tour, exploring the region’s most iconic highlights.
Start with Göreme Panorama, a scenic viewpoint offering breathtaking views over Göreme town and its remarkable cave houses. Continue to the Göreme Open-Air Museum, the largest and most important monastic complex in Cappadocia. Visit rock-cut churches, chapels, and monasteries decorated with well-preserved frescoes dating from the 10th to 13th centuries. This spiritual center was shaped in the 4th century by three influential figures: St. Basil the Great, Bishop of Kayseri; his brother St. Gregory of Nyssa; and St. Gregory of Nazianzus.
Next, visit Paşabağ (Monks Valley), famous for its unique multi-stem fairy chimneys. Here, you will see a chapel dedicated to St. Simeon and a hermit’s shelter carved into a distinctive three-headed fairy chimney.
Explore Devrent Valley, known for its extraordinary rock formations shaped like cones, mushrooms, pillars, and animal figures. Enjoy a leisurely walk through this surreal landscape, formed over thousands of years by volcanic activity, wind, and water erosion.
Continue to Uçhisar Castle, the highest point in Cappadocia. Once a strategic fortress and settlement, the citadel offers spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and villages.
Stop at Pigeon Valley, where ancient pigeon houses were carved into the cliffs. These were traditionally used to collect pigeon droppings for fertilizing vineyards and farmlands.
Finally, discover one of Cappadocia’s fascinating Underground Cities (Özkonak or Kaymaklı). Originally built by the Hittites and later expanded by early Christians, these underground settlements were used as shelters during invasions. Walk through tunnels, living quarters, kitchens, churches, storage rooms, and defensive systems that will truly amaze you.
